Perfect winter vacation?

I am planning to take most of January off. I live in Alaska, so any place else would be warm by comparison. I want someplace slightly urban with good food, good beer, good history, and relatively inexpensive to escape to for a couple of weeks. The boyfriend and I are on the rocks at the moment, so it has to be a place I can enjoy solo, if it comes to that.

    Come to AZ! It’s warm (comparatively speaking) in January, very affordable and has a LOT of great restaurants. That’s what we live for in the Summer… INDOOR entertainment. Scottsdale would be a good central location and is teeming with nightlife. 3ish hours North is the Grand Canyon, or 2 hours puts you in Flagstaff (but it will be snowy there FYI in case you don’t want to see the stuff). Sedona is fabulously beautiful and very peaceful. Of course, we have Tombstone, Bisbee, Jerome and so on. Look them up to see what they’re all about.
