    been there 4 times — would go back in heart beat — very beautiful, and peaceful. A must see!

    Of course I would consider Alaska for a vacation, but then again I already live right next door in Canada’s Yukon and go at least twice a year.

    Alaska is HUGE and offers you all kinds of options — the panhandle and Southeast are coastal and beautiful, rich with culture. Anchorage is just a Big City, but it gives you access to a slew of neat places to visit a day or two at a time; then there is ‘The Interior’ (centered by Fairbanks) that gives yet another geographic landscape.

    You’d be wrong to think there are only ‘outdoors’ activities in Alaska, though certainly all you need do is look up or out, anywhere you are, to be impressed with its beauty.

    The only reason I could find NOT to go is, we also have all that here and generally cheaper. But change is always nice too, and most Alaskans are warm and very friendly.
