Anyone have unusual vacation ideas?
I Love Weekends asked:
We’re planning something next spring anywhere in the US (not Hawaii or Alaska) and would like to do something unusual (we’re middle-aged…nothing too adventurous). Would like to stay away from real busy cities such as Chicago or New York…something more simple and relaxing…not extremely expensive either. Any ideas?

Try exotic places like these
Try Yosemite in California. You will be surrounded by majestic mountains and flowing river. The Tents there are cheap too. You have the amenities like bathrooms and some restaurants nearby. its like being in the middle of a forest with all the comforts in life.
Try Itasca Park, North of Minnesota. you will find the River Mississippi start there and you can actually cross it by foot! You can even go kayaking there!
We love Branson, MO. It is like a clean Las Vegas. Lots of fun shows to watch. They also have a lake where you can rent a boat. Beautiful area and the Spring is not too humid yet.
I’d like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it’s hard to understand why people don’t stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.
