When do Alaskans go on vacation?

Okay so I know in most of the world, the break from school is in the summer. In alaska however, it’s dark in the winter and the sun is out in the summer. I could see why the vacation would be in winter, so people could go out in the summer, but isn’t it a little hard to run schools and such when it’s dark all the time? Wouldn’t some people want to get away to where it’s sunny during the winter? Does anyone know when Alaskans go on vacation? Thanks much!
